(sa) ākāśa, one of the (sa) asaṃskṛta dharmas, passive void or space; two kinds of space, or the immaterial, are named, the active and passive, or phenomenal and non-phenomenal (i.e. noumenal). The phenomenal is differentiated and limited, and apprehended by sight; the noumenal is without bounds or limitations, and belongs entirely to mental conception.* * *唯識宗所立的六種無為之一。 虛空非色非心, 離諸質礙執著, 其性無礙, 無可造作, 故名無為。 這是以‘虛空’形容真如法性, 真如法性猶如虛空, 歷萬劫流轉, 此法性常住不變不改。 故虛空無為從觀得名, 謂由修無我觀所顯的真理, 似虛空之相, 離一切色、 心等諸法障礙, 所以稱虛空無為。* * *虛空即無礙之義。 謂真空之理, 不為惑染之所障礙, 故名虛空無為。
